Warren “Rhubarb” Jones of Cobb County is an Atlanta radio icon. He’s been involved in country music for over 24 years and at radio station Y106.7 for 13 years. Here are just a few of his achievements and honors:

1997 "Build Better Georgia Award" insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner

1996 Recipient of Achievement in Radio Award for "Best Station Sponsored Community Event" (March Across Georgia)

1995 Awarded "Best Radio Personality" by Atlanta Magazine

1995 Named "100 Most Powerful and Influential People in Georgia by Georgia Trend Magazine

1994 Awarded "Best Radio Personality" of the Year by Inside Cobb and Inside Gwinnett Magazine Reader

1993 Nominated for television's EMMY AWARD "Outstanding Achievement Entertainment Special"

1991 Inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame

1990 "NAB Crystal Award" from the National Association of Broadcasters

1988 "Country Radio Air Personality" Large Market Billboard Radio Awards

Rhubarb’s humanitarian accomplishments and charity projects include his annual "March Across Georgia" in June since 1990. This event along with the "Rhubarb Jones Celebrity Golf Tournament" have raised over one million dollars for the Leukemia Society for Research. The many other charities that Rhubarb gives his time to include St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Hi-Hope Center in Gwinnett and the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon.

Mr. Jones was originally appointed to the State Board in 1998 by Governor Zell Miller and subsequently appointed by Governor Roy Barnes and Governor Sonny Perdue. He served as Vice Chairman of the Board in 2004-2005 and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Adult Literacy Committee and serves on the Executive Committee. Mr. Jones has been instrumental in promoting Adult Literacy efforts throughout the state.
