BUS 2390 -- Medical Administrative Assistant Internship II

 

Course Description

Provides student work experience in an off-campus medical environment.  Topics include:  application of classroom knowledge and skills, work environment functions, and listening/following directions.  Students will be under the supervision of the Business Administrative Technology program faculty and/or persons designated to coordinate work experience arrangements.

Perform basic medical office skills such as word processing, filing, handling mail, and receiving office visitors and phone calls..

 

 

 

 

Prepare letters and various business documents in mailable form.

Maintain an efficient workstation in order to accomplish daily tasks with the least amount of time, effort, and frustration.

 

 

 

Records management

Demonstrate knowledge of procedures in the maintenance of medical office records.
