EHO 151 - Seasonal Color Management

Course Description

Emphasis is placed on the design, installation, and maintenance of annual and perennial flowers in landscapes.  Topics include: design, bed preparation, material selection, installation, maintenance, and identification of seasonal color displays.

Identify commercially important annual and perennial plants and materials and demonstrate a knowledge of their cultural requirements and growth characteristics.

Plant identification: annuals, perennials, biennials, and bulbs. 

 

 

 

Design seasonal color installations using correct design principles. 

Demonstrate the ability to design floriculture gardens in the landscape.  This will include drawing design, specifying plant materials and estimating costs.

Design a master seasonal color plan

Design a master plan and schedule for commercial floriculture installations.  Included in this plan will be design, maintenance schedules, and a seasonal activity calendar.

 

 

 

Develop budgets and cost estimates for seasonal color programs.

Demonstrate the ability to prepare budgets and cost estimates for both the installation and maintenance of floriculture projects.  Actual situations will be utilized in the process of budgeting.
