Student Publication Motivational Students at Phoenix Centre Dalton College Adult Literacy Program are writing - some for the first time ever and are being rewarded by seeing their writing in print. The school paper, Windows on Writing (WOW), is doing what the instructors have been unable to do: getting students to put pen to the paper voluntarily while enjoying the process. The fledgling paper WOW expresses the enthusiasm of the budding journalists. All students are urged to contribute, and all contributions are published. There is great diversity of subject matter and writing skills, which not only makes each issue unique, but also encourages reluctant writers to participate by realizing that writing can be worthy without being word-perfect. |
