Job Description:
Under the direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Dean for Student Affairs is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment and culture that synthesizes the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development of all students in a holistic way.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

Manages the daily campus operations, programs, and services critical to student affairs:
Coordinates with campus constituencies and commun= ity leaders in developing and managing co-curricular learning and service opportunities.
Works with the Student Affairs staff, student gro= ups and other members of the College community in developing extracurricul= ar programming assuring integration with the academic life of the institu= tion and encouraging student personal growth and development.
Helps establish a student culture where diversity= is encouraged and where students learn to respect differences, take responsibility for their actions, and exercise leadership. =
Provides leadership in and is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and regulations pertaining to student life, especially those related to alcohol and dr= ug usage and student conduct.
Assists with the development and coordination of policies and procedures relative to all student activities; assists wi= th the annual production of the Student Handbook and other documents.
Administers the policies and regulations of the College as they pertain to students, including internal College judici= al and disciplinary procedures.
Assists with the Coordination of enrollment management for the College.
Serves as a member of the Student Affairs Senior Management Team.
Serves as ambassador for College with alumni, parents, students, neighbors, community leaders, and professional colleagues

Knowledge of the BANNER Student Information System

Knowledge of student services programs and understandi= ng of higher education

Skills and knowledge to direct and supervise the professional staff of the college

Interpersonal/human relations skills

Written and verbal communication skills

Ability to provide leadership and direction in develop= ing, implementing and evaluating student services programs

Ability to analyze data regarding the student services programs

Ability to relate effectively to people of varied acad= emic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds using tact, diplomacy and courtesy<= /p>

Entry Qualifications:

Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in educational leadership, vocational administration, counseling, or a closely related fie= ld *and* a minimum of three years full-time paid wo= rk experience in a higher education environment.
