Job Description, Responsibilities, Standards, and Qualifications=

Divisions Chairs will work with the appropriate Dean to foster effective cooperation, coordination, and communication across multiple campuses with regards to academic programs and services in the area of supervision. The primary responsibility of the Division Chair is to coordinate academic processes and supervise faculty in the assigned area.

The primary responsibility of the Divi= sion Chair is to coordinate academic processes and supervise faculty in the assi= gned area.

Job Duties:

= 1.      =             Works to ensure the consistent exercise of college = and TCSG academic policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and other criteria = or guidelines among all and across all campuses

= 2.      =             Resolves issues related to the performance of duties and responsibilities within the position’s authority and the organizational structure of the college

= 3.      =             Supervises faculty as designated within the organizational structure of the college

= 4.      =             Coordinates new faculty hires in designated area, including fulltime and adjunct faculty.&nb= sp; Verifies appropriate faculty qualifications for all candidates

= 5.      =             Orients and assists new faculty on college policies= and procedures. Assigns faculty m= entors when appropriate

= 6.      =             Conducts annual performance evaluations of fulltime faculty. Observes and documen= ts effectiveness of adjunct faculty

= 7.      =             Reports to dean any faculty absences, student grievance/appeals, and other matters that may affect instructing

= 8.      =             Assists faculty, where needed, in addressing all aspects of verifying program learning outcomes, including identification, review, revision, measurement, and analysis of outcomes

= 9.      =             When applicable, assists faculty in attainment and continuance of program-specific accreditation under assigned supervision

= 10.      =         Oversees the development, review and revision of co= urse syllabi

= 11.      =         Assists program faculty on TCSG curriculum review process; recommends to dean any current curriculum changes, program additio= ns, and program terminations

= 12.      =         Ensures administration of and reviews quarterly cou= rse evaluation by students

= 13.      =         Coordinates relevant program advisory committee act= ivities, including annual meetings, agendas, and required documentation

= 14.      =         Reviews academic program budgets under assigned supervision with program faculty Ensures program faculty adherence to budget and purchasing requireme= nts

= 15.      =         Prepares all quarterly and annual program/course scheduling for programs under assigned supervision. Ensures compatibility with other p= rogram areas where applicable. Ensur= es appropriate faculty loads

= 16.      =         Coordinates catalog reviews for programs under assi= gned supervision

= 17.      =         Participates in, as needed, all program enrollment processes, including registration, drop/add, withdrawals, etc.

= 18.      =         Compiles program statistics such as enrollment, in-quarter and between-quarter retention rates, graduation rate, and placem= ent rate to ensure program viability

= 19.      =         Participates in, as outlined in college academic policy, student academic appeals

= 20.      =         Maintains frequent contact with and/or visitation to academic program facilities as assigned

= 21.      =         Teaches courses as assigned by the dean

= 22.      =         Supports the other division chairs in the performan= ce of their own roles, responsibilities and duties

= 23.      =         Serves on appropriate college standing and ad hoc committees. Recommends to dean faculty assignments to standing and ad hoc committees

= 24.      =         Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance

= 25.      =         Maintains an appropriate professional, community, a= nd leadership presence, behavior, and image
