The Planning division is responsible for all agency-level planning for DTAE and provides direction and guidance to the technical colleges. All plans are developed with broad representation and input from all business units within the agency, the technical colleges, and business and industry. The major planning activities are:

• The Strategic Plan establishes the mission, vision, goals and desired objectives for the agency.
  
  
• The Business Plan is organized by program and provides the basis for the agency’s annual budget request.
  
  
• The Information Technology Plan coordinates all current and future IT projects for the agency.
  
  
• The Workforce Development Plan focuses on the agency’s workforce.
  
  
• The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan is a new requirement for all state agencies.
