Flint River Technical College is accepting applications for the following part-time or temporary full-time unclassified position:

Electronics Technology Instructor

This position is open to all applicants who meet the minimum qualifications below. This position will be unclassified.

Under general supervision demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques. Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and other appropriate record-keeping systems. Demonstrates ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds, learning styles and various ages ranging 16 and up; ability to clearly explain electrical theory as well as troubleshooting applications (schematic diagrams, circuit construction, etc.); knowledge of advanced troubleshooting test equipment (Multi-meter, Clamp meter, Dual Trace Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer, Huntron Tracker, Frequency Generator, etc.); thorough knowledge, understanding and background of direct currents, alternating currents, digital circuitry, solid state technology, communication systems (FM/AM modulation, micro-wave technology, etc.), PLC Programming/Troubleshooting (AB, Siemens, GE, etc.), DC and AC drive systems, mechanical drives, fluid power; and knowledge of industrial safety standards. Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with industry and institutional safety guidelines. Follows rules and regulations as described by the Department of Technical and Adult Education Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.

Minimum Qualifications:
An associate’s degree from a regionally accredited private or public postsecondary college in electronics or closely related field. Three years paid work experience in-field within the past seven years. Work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels included in the electronics technology instructional program. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credential for or related to the field or position. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
