Foreword from Dr. Ken Breeden
As I review the contents of this issue of RESULTS, I must admit that, while of course none of the programs and elements are news to me, it is really a pleasure to have such visible proof of the breadth and depth of what we are accomplishing here at the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education.

This issue offers a sampling of this agency's diverse activities from Quick Start's high-tech training and the Georgia Virtual Technical Institute to English as a second language instruction, the enhancement of public library collections and the latest in auto collision repair training. And the results of a customer-satisfaction survey of more than 4,000 Georgia businesses show that we can take pride in the job we're doing.

In addition to feature articles, two new special sections are introduced in this issue:

techtalk, a collection of brief articles about DTAE activities
around the state, and

SUCCESS STORIES, profiles of successful Georgians who
started out with DTAE.

Our premiere issue of RESULTS received positive response from readers across the state as well as five awards so far: Two national, one regional, and two statewide organizations recognized RESULTS.

But the most important response to our service to the people of Georgia, the one that means the most to me, is that indicated by the continually increasing use of what we have to offer. I am proud to announce that this fall quarter 1998 marks our 29th consecutive quarter of increased enrollment. With the high level of customer satisfaction and growing demand, we look forward to continued growth.
