Foreword from Commissioner Breeden As this agency continues to move forward fall 1999 marked our 33rd quarter of increasing enrollment, with nine percent over fall 1998 remaining responsive to our customers continues to be of primary importance. We see our customers as both those who need or want training and those who provide employment Georgia's workforce and Georgia's business and industry. Responsiveness includes maintaining a deep knowledge of needs and trends; our system is designed with that in mind. For example, at the heart of our system of technical institutes is the local board of each school. Made up of business and community leaders, these boards ensure that local needs are always paramount in planning and implementation. Add that up across the state, and you have a vital, living system that works for the people of every part of Georgia, whether they live in Waycross or Rock Spring, Atlanta or Americus, Jasper or Savannah. Georgia's growth is phenomenal at this interesting time in history growing at twice the national average this year. It is an exciting time to be a part of a system like technical and adult education, as I hope you can see from this issue, the last with a date in the 1900s.
