1. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN QUICK START TRAINING?

Some of the elements of Quick Start training include the following:

TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS - First we'll conduct an in-depth analysis of the jobs within your company, examine your needs and develop recommendations of the training that will be required.

DETAILED TRAINING PLAN - This document will give you a description of the training services and training schedule that will be custom-designed to meet your company's needs.

HIGH-QUALITY TRAINING - We use advanced instructional technologies to create programs designed just for you. For example, we offer computer-based training, interactive multimedia, award winning corporate and industrial video productions, and a mobile automated manufacturing training lab that brings programmable logic controller (PLC) training to your site.

EXPERT TRAINING STAFF - In addition to our instructors, we have specialists in manufacturing and business technologies, instructional designers, computer experts, video production technicians, graphic designers, and other professionals who create and deliver the best training in the country.

Quick Start provides training for most types of companies, some of which include:

    3. WHAT KINDS OF TRAINING DOES QUICK START PROVIDE FOR?

    Quick Start covers two comprehensive areas: manufacturing and service training. Businesses are eligible for training in all segments.

    MANUFACTURING TRAINING
    Quick Start's Manufacturing Training is divided into six segments:

    1. Company Orientation - This segment is designed to train employees in company history, culture, organizational structure as well as products and services.

    2. Core Skills - These programs cover everything from blueprint reading and precision measurement to safety procedures and manufacturing processes.

    3. Job-Specific Skills - Here, employees learn to operate the customized process equipment in your plant. They may be trained in computerized numerical controls (CNC), solid-state motor controls, PLC's and distributive control systems (DCS). We provide training in manufacturing technologies such as robotics and sensory devices. Maintenance technicians can be trained in predictive and preventive maintenance. Plus our Maintenance Skills Assessment and Training helps your company improve employees' skills in mechanical and electrical maintenance.

    4. Productivity Enhancement - This is designed to teach employees total quality management (TQM), ISO/QS 9000, problem solving, Just-In-Time inventory control, lean manufacturing and other techniques for increasing productivity and efficiency.

    5. Employee Involvement - In this segment, employees learn the skills required for managing or working in a team environment. Some of the training includes interpersonal skills, one-to-one communications, consensus decision making, developing self-directed teams, creating a high-performance work culture and designing your vision.

    6. Human Resource Development - This includes training in areas such as managing change, train-the trainer, and leadership.


    SERVICE TRAINING
    Quick Start's Service Training is divided into six segments:
    1. Company Orientation - This segment is designed to train employees in company history, culture, organizational structure and services. Emphasis is placed on identifying customers, service standards and markets.

    2. Customer Service - These programs teach employees the elements of quality service and highlights key customer expectations. Employees identify their customers and learn strategies for enhancing service.

    3. Interaction Skills - Here, employees receive specialized training in how to take charge of customer interactions and deliver quality service.

    4. Product Information Training - This portion of the training teaches employees about your company's products and services.

    5. Job Procedures - The training here covers specific job tasks and working methods such as records management, computers skills and office automation.

    6. Professional Development - In this segment, employees learn to enhance certain business skills such as writing, valuing cultural diversity, business ethics and creating a professional image.

    Yes. We understand that every company is unique. That's why we design training to meet the specific needs of your company.

    5. HOW IS THE TRAINING DELIVERED?

    We've designed Quick Start to be flexible and to respond immediately to your company's needs. Training can take place at your facility or at a location arranged by Quick Start. Our schedules are also very flexible. The bottom line is, we'll accommodate your needs in every way.

    6. DOES QUICK START PROVIDE PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING?

    Yes. Designed as a screening tool, this preliminary training gives you the opportunity to preview the skills and work habits of your prospective employees before you hire them.

    7. WHO IS YOUR MAIN POINT OF CONTACT?

    Every company that takes part in our training works with a Certified Economic Developer Trainer (CEDT). The CEDT is located at one of the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education's 34 technical colleges or one of the four university programs affiliated with Quick Start. With your CEDT, you can count on personalized attention, local management and a single, accessible point of contact.

    8. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU'VE COMPLETED THE START-UP TRAINING?

    We believe that training is an ongoing process. That's why we provide your company with the capability for ongoing training. What's more, we've designed Quick Start around the 34 technical colleges and four university programs throughout the state, so we're never far away if you need us.
