| The
five student organizations below are active
statewide, although not every organization has
chapters at each technical college. Additional
clubs based on programs of study or professional
fields are also available.
Some student organizations offer local, state,
and national competitions in the students'
field of study. Every year the Department
of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE) offers
the Fall Leadership Conference where over
800 students come together to enhance their
professional skills.
Delta
Epsilon Chi is an international organization
for college students preparing for a variety
of career areas. It's local chapters and state/provincial/territorial
associations are a division of DECA Inc. Delta
Epsilon Chi is currently active throughout
the U.S., its territories and Canada.
Activities
promoted by Delta Epsilon Chi integrate with
and enhance the student's college curriculum.
In addition, the organization's close ties
with the business community provide both opportunities
for members and an appreciation of the free
enterprise system.
Delta
Epsilon Chi membership is an essential resource
for future professionals that will benefit
from marketing, management and entrepreneurial
skills and knowledge.

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)

The
purpose of the National Technical Honor Society
is to honor excellence in workforce education.
Requirements for membership are set by local
schools. The
purposes of the NTHS are:

Beta Lambda is our largest student organization
with over 600 student members statewide. PBL
works with students in business education.
FBLA-PBL
is the premier student business association.
Their mission is to bring business and education
together in a positive working relationship

Student Leadership Council (SSLC)
|
The
Statewide Student Leadership Council is the
body of officers and representatives that
oversee the student activity funds of each
technical school and decide how the funds
will be used and distributed for the betterment
of each student body.
SSLC arranges activities for the student bodies
to promote networking, career preparation,
and enjoyment of school life. Their purpose
is to promote better student involvement in
the schools in the State of Georgia, by sharing
information and providing assistance in programs
and activities of the member technical schools.
SkillsUSA
is a national organization serving more than
264,500 high school and college students and
professional members enrolled in training
programs in technical, skilled, and service
occupations, including health occupations.
In
high schools and college/technical schools.
SkillsUSA has more than a quarter million
student members annually, organized into 13,000
chapters and 54 state and territorial associations
(including the District of Columbia, Puerto
Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands).
