Vice Presidents of Student Affairs Council

The Vice Presidents of Student Affairs Council (VPSSC) is an organization of the Vice Presidents of Student Affairs of the Georgia technical colleges and the Vice Presidents of Student Affairs at the University System Colleges with technical divisions. The VPSSC provides a forum for Vice Presidents of Student Affairs and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) staff to affect and direct the future of student development efforts in Georgia Technical Colleges.

The VPSAC meetings are held on a regular basis. They usually are to be held for two days. Agenda topics include, but are not limited to: enrollment management, admissions, BANNER, records, career placement, financial aid, special populations, accreditation issues, joint efforts with high schools and/or four year colleges, updates of policies, and the Performance Accountability System (PAS). Presentations of best practices and guest speakers are also a part of the VPSAC meetings.

A Chairperson of the VPSAC presides at the meetings. The Chairperson is voted from the membership of the VPSAC to serve a two-year term as Vice Chairperson and then a two-year term as Chairperson. The Vice Chairperson serves as Chairperson in his or her absence. The Secretary records and distributes the minutes of the meetings. There is an Executive Committee of the VPSAC, consisting of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and a representative from each of the six consortia who are the chairs of the standing committees. The Executive Committee meets approximately one month prior to the VPSAC meeting to plan the agenda for the VPSAC meeting.
