DEPARTMENT OF TECHNICAL AND ADULT EDUCATION

Information Technology Plus
The Department of Technical and Adult Education's IT+ certification program is based on national skill standards for information technology. These skill standards were established by the Northwest Center for Emerging Technologies through rigorous research with over 125 leading high-tech businesses. IT+ certification is an industry-driven, business solution for today's technology workforce.
To meet the challenges of today's Information Technology (IT) workplace, IT professionals at all levels must work more and more directly with customers, corporate management, and colleagues to accomplish business objectives. In this environment, employers need IT staff members with good technical skills plus a well-developed set of non-technical skills. The Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education can meet this need.
The IT+ certification program enables IT professionals to enhance their technical (hard) skills with critical business process, communication, and interpersonal (soft) skills, earning graduates a 15-hour technical college certificate. IT+ training will improve the business quality and productivity of IT professionals working in many areas, including database development/administration, systems analysis/integration, network design/administration, programming and software engineering, technical support and web development/administration.
