FDI Description:
This two and one half day workshop is designed to provide new instructors with the instructional methods, techniques, information, and materials that can be effectively integrated into the process of teaching. These critical teaching and management skills will provide the instructor with the tools necessary to deliver a high quality of instruction in the classroom and laboratory.
FDI Objectives:
1. Discuss the history and mission of TCSG.
2. Write performance objectives using the three domains.
3. Discuss the importance, function, and use of syllabi and lesson plans.
4. Develop and discuss strategies for teaching adult learners and the differences
among generational learners.
5. Review and discuss professionalism in the learning environment.
6. Review and discuss program and course standards.
7. Discuss student advisement for academic success and retention.
8. Discuss effective teaching methodologies for classroom success.
FDI Presentation Methods:
Lecture, Group Discussion, Individual and Team Work
NOTE:
Participants
are required to attend all sessions to get credit for the training. If you
cannot be present for all activities, please reschedule at a more convenient
time. Extenuating circumstances will be evaluated on an individual basis at the
discretion of the instructor.
