The 2004 Leadership Award is presented to Gail Roberts of Southwest Georgia Technical College. Gail has served as Chair of the DTAE Library Council twice. The DTAE Library Council meetings were always well planned and much was accomplished in a few hours because of Gail’s preparedness. She kept all the members of the Library Council informed and aware of all the projects she was involved in and always asked for suggestions. One of her first contributions was to write a proposal for cataloging to be funded through the DTAE automation initiative. This was used as a model for all of the other Libraries.

Some of Gail’s other contributions include serving as Library Council secretary one year, DTAE representative with the GALILEO Steering Committee, and serving on the Hubbard Scholarship Committee. Gail has either presented or arranged for programs or speakers at five of the annual state conventions (GaCOMO) and collected and distributed comparative statistical data.” She is the current chair of the SE Consortia.
