Course Description

Introduces the methods and techniques used in detailing a refinished automotive surface.  Topics include: finish analysis, color sanding, polishes and glazes, cleaning vehicle, and decal and stripes.

 Types and Procedures

Identify types of sand paper, proper grit for specific finish, and type of backing pad for finish defect, and demonstrate this technique using proper safety guidelines

 

 

 

 

 POLISHES AND GLAZES

Identify proper equipment and materials, i.e., type of buffing and polishing pads, and demonstrate proper techniques to avoid damage to final finish using proper safety guidelines.

Identify soaps and cleaner for various car auto parts, use pressure washer and car cleaner properly and adhering to safety guidelines.

 Procedures

Select position on vehicle, matching it to interior correctly, end stripes.  Use proper technique for adding decal, and avoid bubbles.  These procedures should be done adhering to safety guidelines.
