ACR 2340 - Urethane Enamels Refinishing Application
Course Description Provides instruction in the equipment, material, and techniques used in the application of urethane enamels paint. Emphasis will be placed on automotive refinishing procedures. Topics include: safety; paint identification; base metals preparation and priming; equipment use and maintenance; base coat/clear coat application; color application of solid and metallic finishes; original finish sealing; panel and spot repair and blending; thinners, reducers, and additives; and tri-coat finishing.

Procedures	Demonstrate the ability to use appropriate techniques for preparation and primer application to include proper materials.

Procedures	Describe and use equipment effectively to include maintenance techniques and procedures.

Spray gun techniques	Apply solid and metallic topcoats to include correct procedures for each application.

Types of sealers and Application procedures	Follow all procedures and techniques which apply to selecting and applying the appropriate sealers.
Panel	Demonstrate the ability to refinish a panel.
Spot	Demonstrate the ability to make a spot repair on a panel.
Blending	Demonstrate correct procedures in blending.

Thinners	Identify and utilize materials based on factors such as temperature, humidity, and viscosity of the material.
Reducers	Identify and utilize materials based on factors such as temperature, humidity, and viscosity of material.
Additives	Demonstrate knowledge and purpose of using additives in paints.
