Course Description

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to perform aircraft engine inspections.  Topics include:  perform an aircraft powerplant conformity and airworthiness inspection.

Periodic inspections

Describe the frequency and type of required aircraft engine inspections.

 

 

 

 

Make engine/aircraft log book entries.

 

 

 

 

Inspect an aircraft engine for conformity with specifications and airworthiness directives.

 

 

 

Compression testing

Perform an aircraft engine differential compression check.

 

 

 

Ignition system inspection

Check and adjust the aircraft engine magneto timing.

 

 

 

Engine operational checks

Determine that aircraft engine performance is satisfactory in accordance with FAR 43.
