AUT 216 - ADVANCED ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED SUSPENSION AND STEERING SYSTEMS

Course Description

Introduces principles of electronic suspension, electronic steering, and electronic active suspension. Topics include: electronic steering systems diagnosis and adjustment/repair, and diagnosis of electrical and electronic controlled steering and suspension systems.

	Explain the purpose of variable assists steering. Diagnosis and adjusts components of electrical controlled steering systems; determine necessary action. Briefly explain the operation of the speed sensitive steering system that is combined with the road sensitive suspension system

	Describe the major components in the electronic air suspension system Describe how an electronic air suspension system corrects low suspension trim height Describe the normal operation of the warning lamp in electronic air suspension system List the conditions that causes a programmed ride control (PRC) system to switch from the normal to the firm mode Explain speed leveling capabilities and the advantage of this function in a suspension controlled module Briefly explain the operation of rear electronic level control system that is combined with the road sensing suspension system
