Course Description

 

Provides instruction in the fundamental procedures used for assembly of cabinet bases, wall units, and face frames.  Topics include:  clamping device use, tool use safety, cabinet base assembly, wall unit assembly, face frame assembly, material estimation, and European style construction.

Assemble ends, back, and bracing.

 

 

 

 

Assemble joint.

 

 

 

 

Fasten parts of cabinet base with nails.

 

 

 

 

Fasten parts of cabinet base with screws.

 

 

 

 

Fasten parts of cabinet base with staples.

 

 

 

 

Fasten top to casework.

 

 

 

 

Install cabinet base shelves and adjust.

 

 

 

 

Install track and slide for sliding doors.

 

 

 

Adjustments and corrections

Follow correct procedures in making necessary adjustments or corrections.

Assemble face frame of wall unit.

Apply clamping devices on face frame.

 

 

 

 

Assemble face frame joint with glue and fasteners.

 

 

 

 

Fasten face frame parts with nails.

 

 

 

 

Fasten face frame parts with screws.

 

 

 

 

Fasten face frame parts with staples.

 

 

 

 

Reinforce joints with blocks or dowels.

 

 

 

Adjustments and corrections
