CIS 2170 - DB2 Fundamentals and SQL

 

Course Description

This course will provide both database administrators and application developers with the broad foundation skills and knowledge needed to be successful with IBM DB2 Universal Database (UDB)  in a UNIX, Windows, or OS/2 environment. This course will teach students the basic concepts of DB2 UDB, creating and accessing database objects, basic Structured Query Language (SQL), and managing databases. The course includes extensive hands on labs, labs where students can code and test a wide variety of SQL statements. Prepares student to take IBM Certification Test 730. Topics include:  identify DB2 UDB product editions, their installation and verification, user interfaces, and security features, create and access DB2 database objects, ensure data validation and integrity, and create views and indexes, master basic Structure Query Language (SQL), and manage database operations.
