Course Description

Provides darkroom and studio experiences for the development of photographic skills. Emphasis will be placed on skill development through laboratory practice and completion of structured assignments. Topics include: studio skill development and laboratory skill development.

STUDIO SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Camera operation

Identify the appropriate camera for structured assignments.

 

 

 

 

Properly load film into the camera.

 

 

 

 

Manipulate all camera controls.

 

 

 

Exposure control

Control exposure by considering film speed, aperture, and shutter speed.

 

 

 

 

Set aperture and shutter speed.

 

 

 

 

Identify and compensate for any alteration of proper exposure.

 

 

 

Metering

Demonstrate proper metering techniques for structured assignments.

 

 

 

Lighting

Identify the various lighting conditions for structured assignments.

 

 

 

 

Modify the lighting condition if necessary.

 

 

 

 

Take photographs with different lighting methods.
