Course Description

Emphasis will be placed on the development of healthy vines which will bear high-quality fruit at reasonable cost.  Topics include:  site selection and preparation; varietal, clonal, and rootstock selection and planting; appropriate trellis systems; and vine training during the first year of growth.  Upon completion, students should be able to make independent decisions with regard to the establishment of a new vineyard.
