EMS 1205 – Clinical Applications for the EMT - Intermediate II

Course Description

The course will include clinical hours to be spent in both Hospital Emergency Departments and on Ambulance Clinical Rotations. This course will include all of the EMT-Intermediate Clinical Procedures Requirements With Accompanying Psychomotor Objectives listed under Module-C (Clinical) of the Georgia Office of EMS, EMT-Intermediate Curriculum standard. This course will include a minimum of 30 clinical hours, and along with Clinical Applications for the EMT-Intermediate – I, will include a minimum skill set.

Note: ALL State of Georgia Office of EMS clinical objectives listed below must be completed between the "Clinical Applications for the EMT-Intermediate - I" and the "Clinical Applications for the EMT-Intermediate - II" courses. A minimum of 30 hours and 5 patient contacts in a clinical setting is required for each of those courses. However, it may take more than the minimum of 30 hours or 5 patient contacts to complete all the clinical objectives. ALL clinical objectives must be completed the number of times listed in brackets [ ]. These clinical objectives are in addition to the EMT-Basic Clinical Objectives.

Note: If the State of Georgia Office of EMS (listed under the "Clinical Applications for the EMT-Basic") objectives are not completed during the EMT-Basic clinical course (for any reason, such as the student being exempted from that course), they will need to be completed between the "Clinical Applications for the EMT-Intermediate - I" and the "Clinical Applications for the EMT-Intermediate - II" courses.
