FTP 224 – Commercial Pilot Multi-Engine Flight Operations

Course Description:

This course provides instruction in multi-engine aircraft ground and flight operations.  Topics include: multi-engine operations and systems, weight and balance and performance charts, engine out operations, and multi-engine instrument flying.  Emphasis is placed on developing the flying skills which will qualify the student for the FAA additional aircraft class rating for Airplane Multi-Engine Land.

Perform proper radio communications, traffic patterns, and describe runway markings

 

 

 

Takeoffs, Landings, and Go-Arounds

Demonstrate multi-engine takeoffs, landings, and go-arounds to commercial practical test standards (PTS)

 

 

 

Performance Maneuver

Perform steep turns to commercial PTS

 

 

 

Navigation

Use proper pilotage, dead reckoning, diversion, and lost procedures

 

 

 

Slow Flight and Stalls

Demonstrate slow flight, power on and power off stalls to PTS
