Course Description

Introduces the physical characteristics and applications of solid state devices. Topics include: introduction to semiconductor fundamentals, diode applications, basic transistor fundamentals, basic amplifiers, and semiconductor switching devices.

INTRODUCTION TO SEMICONDUCTOR FUNDAMENTALS

Explain the basic fundamentals of semiconductor theory in forming a PN junction.

 

 

 

 

List and identify various diodes by physical recognition and by their symbols.

 

 

 

Diode voltage control

Explain the differences between forward biasing a diode and reverse biasing a diode.

Introduction to rectifiers
