MCH 102 - Blueprint Reading I

Course Description

Introduces the fundamental concepts necessary to interpret drawings and produce sketches for machine tool applications. Topics include: interpretation of blueprints and sketching.

Lines	Identify the type of line according to the Alphabet of Lines.
Views	Define the six main views and give examples of alternate views.
Dimensions and notes	Interpret the dimensions and notes to find material type, number, angles, holes, etc.
Sections	Identify materials by use of section lines.
Geometric dimensioning	Interpret blueprints.

Freehand lines	Draw the lines found in the Alphabet of Lines.
Views	Draw a freehand sketch of a part showing six views.
Isometric	Draw a sketch of a part using the isometric view of the part.
Pictorial	Make pictorial sketches.
Using graph paper	Draw simple machining sketches.
