Course Description

This course is designed to prepare students to develop professional leadership skills and maintain a successful practice as a Neuromuscular Therapist. Topics include: networking; business promotion; business management; start-up plan portfolio; and financial management.

Present an overview of the benefits of massage for an approved musculoskeletal or nervous condition or pathology to include a history, anatomy involved, current treatments, demonstration of Neuromuscular Therapy treatment, and implications for NMT treatment within a particular medical office.

 

 

 

 

Identify community outreach opportunities available to the professional Neuromuscular Therapists

Compare and contrast benefits and legal responsibilities of sole proprietorship with those of employment status.

 

 

 

 

Interview a small business with questions reflecting a typical SWOT Analysis as well as competencies of this course.

 

 

 

 

Explore local zoning and licensing laws as they relate to potential sites for a business clinic.

 

 

 

 

Compile a Documentation Portfolio to include soap notes, informed consent, client intake, release forms, policies and procedures.
