A Major Code of EPS1 and a CIP Code of 131501 are applied to the Early
Childhood Paraprofessional Specialization TCC program
Assignment
of a statewide Major Code EPS1 and CIP Code 131501 to the program is the basis
from which statewide programmatic consistency is developed.
Each
degree/diploma/certificate program complies with the assigned Major Code(s)
established in the relevant program-specific standards of the State Board of
Technical and Adult Education.
Each authorized
degree/diploma/certificate program is assigned a Major Program Code and a CIP
Code.
Each
degree/diploma/certificate program having a given Major Code is consistent with
all other programs throughout the State which have the same Major Code.
Degree/diploma/certificate
programs having multiple specializations are assigned a specialization Major
Code for each option.
The
purpose of the Early Childhood Paraprofessional
Specialization TCC is to provide the knowledge,
skills, and attitudes necessary to meet the specific needs of school-age
children and their families in public and private school classrooms, before and
after school programs, and summer camp/summer recreation programs. Competencies are aligned with GDTAE standards
and the Georgia Professional Development and Training System.
Programs
are assigned an identical Major Code EPS1 and are consistent statewide. Each
specific course is assigned an alphanumeric descriptor that serves as the
statewide course identification code.
The Early Childhood Paraprofessional
Specialization TCC program is assigned a Major
Code of EPS1, and utilizes essential components designated for that program
number statewide.
Early Childhood Paraprofessional
Specialization, TCC
The
purpose of the School-Age and Youth Care Certificate Program is to provide
students with the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to work effectively
during out-of-school hours with children between the ages of six and fourteen
years The competencies in these courses almost entirely overlap with the newly
established competencies for School-Age Care Professionals, as outlined by the
Georgia Childhood Care and Education Professional Development System’s
Collaborative Leadership Team. This
certificate program will be the first to address these competencies
specifically for Education Paraprofessional Specialization practitioners who
wish to receive formal education in this discipline.
