INTRODUCTION

The original Program Standards and Curriculum Guides have been combined to make them more user friendly and easier to keep up-to-date. The reformatted Program Standards and Course Guides are now divided into two main sections: Program Specific and General. Additionally, Degrees, Diplomas, and Technical Certificates of Credit have been grouped into Program Groupings.

I. THE STANDARDS PAGE

The Standards Page includes the following links:

General Program Standards are standards that apply to all credit programs of study approved by the State Board of Technical and Adult Education.
Institutional Standards are all standards that must be followed by all technical institutes.
Program Specific Standards and Course Guides are listed by program groups. For additional information see

II. THE PROGRAMS OF STUDY BY GROUP PAGE

The Programs of Study by Group Page is a list of all Degrees, Diplomas, and Technical Certificates of Credit listed under their appropriate Program Groups. To get the homepage for a given program group, click on its name. You can use the alphabet provided to go directly to the program groups starting with that letter. To go directly to the program, click on it's name. If you know the beginning of a program name, then you can use you browser's (Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, etc.) find function to find that program. Click Edit on the top of screen, then click find, and type in the word you are looking for. The letters and numbers to the right of the program groups are the Major Code for that given program.

III. THE PROGRAM GROUP HOMEPAGE

Each program group has a homepage. On this page you will find a what's new link featuring any new information, standard changes, etc. for that program group. There are also program standards and course guides for standard degrees and diplomas, as well as program information for non-standard degrees, diplomas and/or TCCs.
The homepage lists the Program Contact Person at DTAE for that program group. Links to pending probe reports, IFCC Executive Board Members, and IFCC Guidelines are provided. There is a link to a List of All Courses that lists all courses offered in the DTAE system. At the bottom of the homepage there is a feedback link, which will send an e-mail to the DTAE program specialist for that area. Finally, you will find the date when the page was last updated.

IV. PROGRAM STANDARDS AND COURSE GUIDES

The program standard and course guides page contains the specific program standards and links to the general program standards and course pages, which are contained in separate files.

1. Specific Program Standards

Specific Program Standards are those standards that are unique to a given program as identified by its major code. The first two digits of the standard number (program identification number) have been replaced with the four digit major code for that program. i.e. - for Criminal Justice Degree, 79-03-03 is now CJ03-03-03.
If you click on an item in the table of contents, it will take you to that measure statement. If you click on program course list, it will take you to a table displaying all courses in the program. If you click on a course code, it will take you to that specific course page. See number 3 below.
If you know a program's Major Code and you want to go directly to the Program Standard and Course Guides for that program, go to http://www.dtae.org/teched/standards/xxxx.html where xxxx is the Major Code (for example: http://www.dtae.org/teched/standards/cj03.html for CJ03).

2. General Program Standards

General Program Standards are standards that apply to all credit programs of study approved by the State Board of Technical and Adult Education. If you click on general program standards it will take to a separate file displaying a table of contents. If you click on an item in the table of contents, it will take you to that measure statement.

3. Course Guides

Each course has its own file that includes standard information, the course guide, and suggested resources. If you want to go directly to the Course Guide for a course, you can go to http://www.dtae.org/teched/standards/courses/xxxxxx.html where xxxxxxx is the course number with no spaces. (for example, http://www.dtae.org/teched/standards/courses/crj101.html for CRJ 101).

4. Printing

If you want to just print a document that you have open in Internet Explorer, you can push the print button or click File on the top of screen, then click print. If you do this from the Program Standards and Course Guides page, this will print only the specific standards, from the general standards page it will just print the general standards, from the Course Guide page it will just print the file for that course.

If you want to print the Specific Standards and Course Guides, but not the General Standards, then you need to:

1. Highlight (by clicking and dragging the mouse) the Program Standards and Course Guides page from after the table of contents (that is, at ADMISSIONS) to the end of the file, then
2. click File, then Print, then
3. click Selection in the Print Range box and click Print All Linked Documents in the bottom left corner and click OK.

If you want to just print course information for all the courses in the program at once, then you need to:

1. Highlight (by clicking and dragging the mouse) the table of courses in the Program Standards and Course Guides page, then
2. click File, then Print, then
3. click Selection in the Print Range box and click Print All Linked Documents in the bottom left corner and click OK.

If you want to print coverpages for any standards, Click Here and select the standard for which you want a cover.
