Program Description    

The Scopist is a technical certificate of credit program designed to educate individuals for entry into the field of assisting court reporters. Students in this program will gain the knowledge and skills in the following areas: computer machine shorthand, real time captioning, document processing, medical terminology, law and ethics and English for court reporters. Program graduates receive a Technical Certificate of Credit, which qualifies them to assist court reporters in performing court reporting and captioning functions for courts, county/state legislatures, free lance reporters and captioning functions for industry.
