Program Description    

 

The site planning and analysis certificate program is designed to enhance skills in the landscape industry specific to soil and topography issues. The program provides in-depth understanding of soil dynamics and soil chemistry. It helps the student understand the issues and challenges of soil preparation. Reading and being able to draw topography maps is also part of this area of study. The program also provides hands-on instruction in the building of retaining walls, walks/paving systems, ponds and other landscape features that deal with earth moving and placement. Technical courses apply to the degree or diploma program in environmental horticulture.
