Office of Technical Education

The Office of Technical Education contributes to the economic growth and stability of the state by providing quality technical education and special workforce services. The primary role of this office is to ensure that all programs and services excel in meeting the individual's need for career success and the community's need for continued economic growth and development.

The Office ensures that each institution provides equal access to all segments of the population. The Office is also responsible for joint planning and coordination of programs and services with other public agencies and organizations to provide Georgia citizens with a seamless education system. Technical education services are provided to improve the social and economic well being of Georgia’s citizens.

Georgia's Technical Colleges
This page provides maps and information on the state's technical colleges and satellite campuses; information on the Hope Grant; and various degree and diploma programs available.

Accountability and Institutional Effectiveness
The Accountability and Institutional Effectiveness Division supports technical college planning, evaluation, and accreditation activities that are consistent with the mission of DTAE.

Georgia's School-to-Work Initiative
The Georgia School-to-Work Initiative is enabling 40 local Partnerships to implement gap-filling strategies that meet unique local needs and are appropriate for local contexts with the goal of achieving systemic and sustainable improvements in local education and workforce development. Our mission is to strengthen, expand, and connect the common strategic goals of Georgia's existing educational, workforce and economic development initiatives.

GOAL: Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership
The GOAL program recognizes and rewards student excellence within the state's technical colleges.

Instructional Support Services
The Instructional Support Services Division provides leadership and service to technical colleges in the areas of curriculum development and revision, faculty development, educational resources, distance learning, and health and safety requirements.

Special Workforce Services
The Special Workforce Services Unit provides a wide range of comprehensive services to assist all students in achieving maximum success in technical and adult education.

Student Affairs
The Student Affairs Division oversees career planning, student activities, financial aid, special populations and enrollment management.

Technical Improvement & Innovation Project
This project provides technical colleges and colleges with technical divisions with an opportunity for improvement through developing, applying, and demonstrating educational improvements and innovations.

Workforce Development Initiatives
The Workforce Development Division creates and manages partnerships, collaborative, and strategic alliances which are designed to encompass a full range of training and educational programs which contribute to the economic, educational and community development of Georgia.
