Tech
Prep
Tech prep education is a four-year planned sequence
of study for a technical field, beginning in
the eleventh year of high school. The sequence
extends through two years of postsecondary occupational
education or an apprenticeship program of at
least two years following secondary instruction,
and culminates in a certificate or associate
degree. An estimated 800 consortia composed
of high schools and postsecondary institutions
across all states have tech prep programs.
